Duplex Imaging and Physiological Testing (Doppler) of the Deep & Superficial Venous System

Lower Extremities

  • Deep Venous System
  • Common Femoral Vein*
  • Superficial Femoral Vein
  • Proximal Deep Profunda Vein
  • Popliteal Vein*
  • Posterior Tibial Veins*
  • Peroneal Veins
  • Deep Muscular Calf Veins
  • Superficial Venous System
  • Greater Saphenous Vein
  • Lesser Saphenous Vein
  • Varicosities
  • Communicator/Perforator Veins (When Indicated)

Baker's cyst are identified in routine venous duplex examination of the lower extremities.
Iliac study is performed when specified by physician.

 

Upper Extremities

* Indicates physiologic testing (Doppler) completed within these vessels for patency and/or valvular dysfunction.

 

Typically accepted diagnostic reasons for testing include, but are not limited to:

  • Deep Vein Thrombosis
  • Superficial Vein Thrombosis
  • Pre-OP Vein Mapping
  • Pain w/ Pressure
  • Chest Pain
  • Dyspnea
  • Edema
  • Ulceration
  • Cellulitis
